I take the Beckler River Rd. or 65, left onto 6510, look for 6514 and get on it for about 5 miles on a not-so-pleasant road. Since its the Wilderness there are no signs so look for other cars. Walk the Fishermans Trail to Eagle instead of the granite boulders from Barclay for a spectacular view of Baring and Merchant.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148308556895660080.post-37553881454797324962012-05-17T15:48:43.899-07:002012-05-17T15:48:43.899-07:00Does anyone know the conditions at Eagle Lake? Two years ago, the snow pack was a different story. Try using the Winter hikes filter on the map, and hopefully you can find something fun for this weekend!

JerJerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00373862571150138613noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148308556895660080.post-50589228200493075512012-03-22T11:16:27.119-07:002012-03-22T11:16:27.119-07:00I'm thinking about doing Barclay Lake this wee...I'm thinking about doing Barclay Lake this weekend. It's one of my favorites, but I've never gone this early in the season. Looks like you posted this in January 2010 and I don't see any snow on the trail. Do you think it's a safe bet this time of year? Or, do you think there is a possibility of hitting snow?Pamelahttp://www.alaskagirlatheart.comnoreply@blogger.com
